Bojangles' Inc. is a Southeastern United States based chain of fast food restaurants. Bojangles specifically specializes in cajun seasoning, fried chicken, and buttermilk biscuits. The company was founded in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1977. Bojangles was built on a prediction that consumer would demand for good food served in a quick-service environment. Bojangle’s overall concept is built on 3 attributes, all of which are still in play today: distinctive flavor, high-quality products, and a festive restaurant design with friendly service.
Bojangles’ Restaurant founders, Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas, first opened their doors in Charlotte in the year 1977 and a year later, the first franchised restaurant began to operate. Three years after opening, Bojangles was sold to Horn & Hardart Company by Jack Fulk. Under Horn & Hardart Company’s ownership, Bojangles’ grew rapidly to a total of 355 locations, 100 of them alone stationed in the state of Florida. After the closing of the Horn & Hardart Company, Falfurrias Capital Partners bought the Bojangles’ chain but sold it four years later to Advent International. In early 2019, Bojangles’ became their own privately held company for the first time in four years. As of the year’s end in 2018, Bojangles’ has 750 plus locations, more than half of which are franchised.
Being a restaurant that specializes in chicken and biscuits, a lot of Bojangles’ meals revolve around the two food items. A large portion of Bojangles’ deals with biscuits and the breakfast sandwiches that they make using the biscuits as the fried chicken that they are so proud of. They also have a combination meals with both biscuits and fried chicken but among the biscuits and fried chicken, they also offer salads, drinks, normal sandwiches, and deserts. But if you’re ever near one of their locations and craving fried chicken and biscuits, Bojangles’ got you covered.
