Round Table Pizza is a large chain of pizza parlours primarily in the western United States, originally inspired by the drawing from a friend of the founder which depicted several members from Knights of the Round Table eating slices of pizza. Round Table Pizza serves a variety of pizzas including the traditional and standard pizza recipes. They have over 400 locations. Their current motto is the Last Honest Pizza.

We have to admit that their pizza is better than many of the large chains like Dominos and Papa Johns. Prices are much higher though.

In 1959, Bill Larson opened the first Round Table Pizza in Menlo Park, California. He envisioned a gathering place where you could “share a little pizza with someone you love.” Bill believed in using gold-standard ingredients and time-honored recipes to boldly bake hand-crafted pizza worth sharing.

In 1961, a friend of Larson's drew some sketches of members of King Arthur's court eating pizza, and Mr. Larson then adopted the King Arthur theme for his restaurants. The three banners in the official logo were added in 1970, and are intended to symbolize the letters "F-U-N." Round Table Pizza began to expand through franchising

In 2011, the company filed for protection under Chapter 11 with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and emerged from bankruptcy the same year. Since then, the company met all obligations and its financial strength steadily improved with the retirement of debt and the increase in cash flow.

Between 2011 and 2016, same-store sales have increased quarterly for both franchise and company-operated restaurants, exceeding overall pizza industry performance. The company currently operates two formats. Traditional Round Table Pizza restaurants serve primarily pizza, salads and beverages.
