Target is an American general merchandise retailer selling products through its stores and digital channels.
About Target
Target was founded on January 5th, 1960 by Douglas Dayton and John Geisse. They're currently the eighth largest retailer in the entirety of the United States, and a part of the S&P 500. Target originally was part of a company first named Goodfellow Dry Goods, which was founded in 1902 by George Dayton. The corporation was renamed Dayton's Dry Goods company, and later became known as the Dayton Corporation. The first Target store was founded in 1962 in Roseville, Minnesota. Around the same time, the Dayton Corporation merged with the J.L. Hudson company, and the collective company went on to own many department store chains such as Hudson's and Marshall Fields. Finally, in 2000, the Dayton Hudson Corporation became called the Target Corporation.
In addition to selling a variety of branded products, Target also owns many private labels. One example is Good&Gather, a food and beverage brand. Another popular one is Xhilaration, which primarily sells sleepwear. It also manages a company website, which partnered with Amazon between 2002 and 2011. During this time period, Amazon provided guest services and fulfillment for Target, which they repaid through both fixed and variable fees. Eventually, in August of 2009, Target built a new online platform, which operated without reliance on Amazon.

What Coupons Does Target Offer?
Coupons offered by Target change over time, and can be applied to in-store, pickup, or delivery orders. Most are digital or in the Target app, not physical coupons. Some examples include exclusive deals on Apple products such as Airpods or iPads, as well as 35% off kitchen and dining items.
Additionally, Target offers an exclusive membership program known as Target Circle, which provides customers with even more deals and promotions. Perks include 5% off a birthday purchase, 1% earnings whenever you shop at Target, and special partnerships.
How to use Target Coupons
Target coupons and promotions can be found both online or in-store. Check their website to discover their limited-time offers, as well as more general deals! Services may be limited to specific locations, or only available through a Circle membership.
What are Target hours?
Each location offers different opening hours. Most locations open every day at 9:00AM and close between 6:00 and 8:00PM.
Does Target offer delivery?
Target delivers items 7 days a week in most of their locations. They offer same day delivery for $9.99 or for free with a Shipt membership, and show all delivery options at checkout. Target bought Shipt several years ago.
More From Wikipedia
"In January 2000, Dayton-Hudson Corporation changed its name to Target Corporation and its ticker symbol to TGT; by then, between 75 percent and 80 percent of the corporation's total sales and earnings came from Target Stores, while the other four chains—Dayton's, Hudson's, Marshall Field's, and Mervyn's—were used to fuel the growth of the discount chain, which expanded to 977 stores in 46 states and sales reached $29.7 billion by the end of the year. It separated its e-commerce operations from its retailing division, and combined it with its Rivertown Trading unit into a stand-alone subsidiary called target.direct. It started offering the Target Visa, as consumer trends were moving more towards third-party Visa and MasterCards and away from private-label cards such as the Target Guest Card.
In 2001, it launched its online gift registry, and in preparation for this, it wanted to operate its upscale Department Stores Division, consisting of 19 Dayton's, 21 Hudson's, and 24 Marshall Field's stores, under a unified department store name. It announced in January that it was renaming its Dayton's and Hudson's stores to Marshall Field's. The name was chosen for multiple reasons: out of the three, Marshall Field's was the most recognizable name in the Department Stores Division, its base in Chicago was bigger than Dayton's base in Minneapolis and Hudson's base in Detroit, Chicago was a major travel hub, and it was the largest chain of the three."
