All about Arbys

Arby's is a well known American sandwich restaurant chain that focuses their menu options on meat loaded sandwiches. Over the years, Arby’s meat selection has grown vastly, enabling their customers to create virtually any combination of meat sandwiches to their own liking. Customers can choose between beef, pork, chicken, and turkey or a combination of these meats. While meat sandwiches is the main item of focus, Arby’s also features a variety of wraps, burgers, sliders, and salads.

It was the year 1964 on July which Arby’s was first founded by Leroy and Forrest Raffel. At the time, hamburgers were the peak of fast food and the brothers wanted to make something a little different. Arby’s was originally intended to be named Big Tex but since that name was already in use, the brothers settled on Arby’s, the phonetic sound of the initials R.B. which stood for Raffel Brothers. The first Arby’s opened in Boardman, Ohio and in the 1970s, the stores began to open up by a rate of 50 stores a year. In 1976, Arby’s was sold to Royal Crown Cola Company but it soon fell into the control of Victor Poshner in 1984 through a hostile takeover. In 2002, Arby’s regained control and continued to operate their 3,472 restaurants worldwide.

Arby’s was first known for their classic roast beef sandwich but a few years after its original creation, a new version of the sandwich appeared called the Beef ‘n Cheddar which included cheese sauce, red onion, and a toasted onion roll. Other signature sandwiches include the Smokehouse Brisket, Traditional Greek Gyro, Turkey Gyro, Roast Beef Gyro, Reuben, and the Loaded Italian.
