Del Taco is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in the crossover of American and Mexican cuisine as well as certain American fast foods such as burgers, fries, and shakes. (Yes they sell BURGERS!) Del Taco is committed to using only the best ingredients in order to make sure that each meal is as fresh and delicious as can be. The prices at Del Taco are quite good, making each food item worth the cost.

Del Taco was founded by Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson in 1964 in Yermo, California. On the first day of business, Del Taco managed to gain $169 dollars in sales with a menu that costed only mere cents. Hackbarth and Jameson was soon joined by Dick Naugle and in two years, the trio would eventually form Red-E-Food Systems Inc. in hopes of franchising their company in order to expand but Dick Naugle would eventually leave to start Naugles. In 1973, Hackbarth and Jameson would sell Del Taco to a group of investors which would soon sell its name to W. R. Grace and Company and merge with Naugles. It wouldn’t be until June of 2015 that the control of Del Taco would be shifted and in the end, Levy Acquisition Corporation acquired Del Taco and made it a public company. As of 2017, Del Taco has 551 locations in the United States.

Del Taco has a wide variety of food items, their menu including tacos, burritos, handcrafted salads, burgers, quesadillas, nachos, and drinks. Despite being a fast food chain, Del Taco offers vegan choices such as their Beyond Meat, a vegan alternative to meat for patrons who so wish to eat something a little different. Beyond Meat is not simply limited for tacos as patrons may also request to have Beyond Meat replace the real meat as a substitute.
