Casey’s is an American chain of convenience stores, with over 2000 locations across southern and midwestern United States. Casey’s is publicly traded under Casey’s General Stores, Inc. ​​Casey's is a combination pizza place, grocery store and gas station, all in one.

In 1959, Donals Lamberti’s father rented a service station to him in Des Miones, Iowa. He remodeled the station into a convenience store. After operating it for 9 years, Kurvin C. Fish, his gasoline supplier turned friend, suggested that he buy the Square Deal Oil Company in Boone, Iowa, to add another service station to his business. He bought the station, and named both Casey’s after Fish’s first two initials.

The new store did exceedingly well, so Lamberti built another store in Creston, Iowa, and succeeded again in the town of 7000. Once again, Lamberti focused on small towns, and added to his collection by building another store in Waukee, Iowa, a town of 1500. It turned out that the Waukee store was the most successful of all o them, so Lamberti continued opening Casey’s in small towns of less than 5000. In 2006, Casey’s purchased Gas N’ Shop, based out of Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as Handimart (33 stores). Casey’s continues to acquire more and more stores, buying Bucky’s Convienence Stores (94 stores) for $580 million in 2020, and 38 Pilot Food Mart locations in 2021.

“In March 2010, Alimentation Couche-Tard (operator of several convenience store chains, including Circle K) offered $1.9 billion for control of the company, and later announced a proxy fight for control. Casey's rejected Couche-Tard's offer and was successful in September 2010 in retaining its board of directors vs. Couche-Tard's nominated slate.

While Casey's and Couche-Tard were battling for company control, in September 2010, 7-Eleven offered a $2 billion bid for control of the company. Casey's and 7-Eleven engaged in discussions, but in November 2010 elected not to proceed with a merger.

Casey's announced in 2017 that it plans to open about 10 new locations in western Ohio.

Casey's announced plans in August 2018 to build a store in Huber Heights, Ohio.

In 2018 Casey's announced under increasing pressure from outside investors to adopt a range of new digital initiatives including a new Fleet Card, Mobile App, and loyalty program for Casey customers. The CEO announced in late 2018 the initiative would be complete by Quarter 1 of 2020.

In October 2020, Casey's announced a rebranding, including a new logo and dropping 'General Stores' from its name.”
