All about Auntie Anne's
Auntie Anne's is an American chain of pretzel shops based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Anne Beiler and her husband, Jonas Beiler, in the year 1988. Auntie Anne's serves foods such as pretzels, dips for the pretzels, and beverages like lemonade. As of recent years, the chain has now grown to more than 1,500 locations around the world. This includes locations inside shopping malls and Walmart stores. Auntie Anne’s are also stationed in non-traditional retail spaces such as some universities, rest areas for vehicles, airports, train stations, travel plazas, amusement parks, and even in some military bases.
Auntie Anne’s first started as a market stand when its founder, Anne Beiler, bought the stand in her local farmer’s market in Downingtown, Pennsylvania in 1988. After her acquisition of the stand in 1988 she began experimenting around with what she could do and that’s when it hit her. Together with her husband, they opened up the first Auntie Anne’s pretzels shop. Since their opening day, Auntie Anne’s remained its own corporate business up until November of 2010. It was then when an Atlanta franchisor, FOCUS Brands, acquired Auntie Anne’s.
Being a pretzel shop, Auntie Anne’s sells a variety of their signature pretzel. These include their cinnamon sugar pretzels, sweet almond pretzels, sour cream and onion pretzels, roasted garlic and parmesan pretzels, pepperoni pretzels, jalapeno pretzels, and raisin pretzels. Some of these pretzels even come in bite sized pieces, such as the cinnamon pretzel nuggets and pepperoni pretzel nuggets. Auntie Anne’s even features pretzel dogs, hot dog weiners wrapped in pretzel dough. If these pretzels aren’t enough for the patron’s taste buds, Auntie Anne’s also sells a variety of seven different dips that the customers can order to dip their pretzels in. To wash down the pretzels, Auntie Anne’s offers a variety of lemonade and fountain drinks but whatever the customer chooses to order, Auntie Anne’s makes sure that every pretzel they make hits the spot.
