All about Raising Cane's

Raising Cane's is a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers, that was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey on August 26, 1996 with 430 locations nationwide plus 20 more internationally.

Todd Graves started his business with a focus on charity and giving back to their communities. Approximately 25% of profit is given back to communities, with focuses particularly on education, feeding the homeless, animal welfare, healthy lifestyles, and business development. The restaurant received its namesake from Grave's labrador who was named Raising Cane to denote he was sweet, and as a pun on the biblical term "Raising Cain". Raising Cane's is privately owned.

Cane's is best known for their philanthropy, along with their uniquely simple menu set up; six "combos", with only a few types of food total. They have both pick-up and delivery available in most locations. Dinner and lunch is served, though the menu isn't altered.

No red meat is served at Raising Cane's, which should be excellent for those concerned about red meat intake; however, there aren't many options for vegetarians other than drinks, coleslaw, and Texas toast.

Per Wikipedia

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers (also called Raising Cane's) is a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by Todd Graves and Craig Silvey on August 26, 1996. Todd Graves and Craig Silvey, who were enrolled in a business plan writing course at LSU at the time, wrote the business plan and Silvey turned it in, for which Silvey received a C-minus. The business plan was rejected numerous times by potential investors, so Graves earned the needed money by working in refineries in California and fishing for sockeye salmon in Alaska. He and Silvey obtained an SBA loan which they used to open the first restaurant in Baton Rouge at the intersection of Highland Road and State Street near the LSU campus.

The restaurants had to switch away from dine-ins to pickup and take away in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic; to date, some of the restaurants had reopened their dine-in seating.
