    Last updated January 2017 to reflect price incrase.

    AT&T Wireless raised the price on grandfathered Unlimited data plans by $5 in December, 2015 from $30 to $35.  And by another $5 from $35 to $40 in March 2017. What do you think they will do in March 2018?

    2 Year plans ended January 8, 2016.

    AT&T Wireless rolled out a new Mobile Share Advantage Plan on August 22, 2016 with lower data costs but higher per device fees.  Our analysis below has been updated to reflect this.

    AT&T created a new wireless phone plan in July 2013 called AT&T Next Installment to address the needs of customers who want to upgrade to the latest and greatest Smartphone every year. Verizon followed suit with their Edge program a week later.

    Normal Smartphone plans in the USA require shoppers to commit to a 2 year contract. They cannot change phones during this time unless they want to pay an expensive early termination fee, for cancelling their contract early

    On 8/22/2016 AT&T Wireless rolled out the new Mobile Share Advantage plan with more data for less $$. It also added no overage charges, speeds will slow to a crawl after you hit your limit. This plan clearly shows the hidden costs of 2 year contracts.

    An allotment of of data costs $30/month for 1GB, $40 for 3GB, $60 for 6GB, $80 for 10GB, etc..

    Almost everyone has a smartphone or will have one shortly. Their usefulness is undeniable. This convenience comes at a high cost and often a multi-year commitment. We examine some little known companies that can take the average cell phone bill from just under $150 to as little as $30 a month. It is surprising that only 1-2% of subscribers switch to other carriers every year, they must feel married to their service.

  6. Sprint Framily Smartphone Plan Review

    Sprint is playing catch up to the other 3 major wireless companies. The Framily Plan is an interesting Smartphone plan that can save you a ton of money. They merged with SoftBank of Japan in the middle of 2013 and are going through a metamorphoses, which includes this new promotion. The Framily Plan started in January of 2014 and is slated to expire 6/12/2014

    In 2015 Sprint added a lease plan where you can pay $15 a month to get an entry level iPhone. At the end of 22 months, you have to return the phone or pay for it.
