This monitor features In-Plane Switching technology (IPS) using a Grade A-1 LED panel (no image defects are allowed) delivering about 15% more brightness than comparable monitors. IPS is especially appealing to people where colors are critical and the size is a gamer's delight. A similar Dell monitor would cost hundreds more (the U2713HM is $799). And while the Dell may be superior, this monitor gives you all the screen real estate and most of the improved (over non-IPS) color clarity with a much less expensive monitor like this.
