Darksiders II is the sequel to Darksiders however the game takes place at the same time as Darksiders, so you don't have to play the first Darksiders to understand the story. In Darksiders II you are playing the role of Death, the most feared of the four horsemen.

Darksiders II features a whole new unique universe that is open world and side quests, allows choices and customization for varied armor sets, weapons, and skill tress for the player to create their own Death.
