Crytek, the game developers, aimed to make this game to be enjoyable on consoles and the PC. Many video game review sites have given Crysis 3 a good if not great score.

Metacritic has given Crysis 3 an 79 out of 100 on the XBox 360, 80 out of 100 on the PC, and 81 out of 100 on the PS3.

Games with Metacritic scores of around 80 or higher are usually must get games. Games with good ratings for all three gaming platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) at the same time are hard to come by. The focus is usually making games better for consoles or for the PC but not both. Crytek has changed that practice with Crysis 3.
