Design - Optimal Use

This is the new Dell Inspiron 17 model. This model has a weight of 6 lbs compared to the 7.23 lbs on the old Inspiron 17R. Because of its weight, it is more transportable than most 17 inch laptops, but pales in comparison to a 3 pound Ultrabook in terms of portability. This laptop is meant for general purpose use, like web browsing, replacing a desktop, and school work. The large 17" LED monitor is great for watching videos and movies. You can also add an external monitor to supplement this large screen.

This laptop was recently released, most reviews online, like CNET, are of the older Dell Inspiron 17R model. The older model is a little more powerful than this Core i3 set up. However, this laptop costs less and weighs less than the 2012 Inspiron 17R. This new Inspiron 17 model can be upgraded with better hardware than the 2012 Dell Inspiron 17R and without sacrificing the 6 lb weight.
